During the long weekend, my husband and I took a trip to Colorado Springs. We didn’t have a whole lot of time to explore, but we had some awesome people to show us around (Thanks in-laws!).
On our first day, we shopped at Manitou, a city about half an hour away. They have unique shops to discover including apothecaries, Tibetan shops, and a penny arcade. There’s plenty of unusual items for sale and locals to meet. I personally purchased some earrings made from local minerals.
On our last day, we had a dog day where we took our dogs to the local dog park. The park was giant, with streams and many trails weaving throughout it. We then took them shopping in the downtown area where many stores were pet friendly. And finally, we allowed them to indulge at the local doggie diner.
Colorado is such a gorgeous place; the mountains were breathtaking. I loved that there were endless things to do and to see and that the place in general was very health conscious. We weren’t reliant on eating at local restaurants for entertainment; there were plenty of outdoorsy things to do.
