I’m an avid dog lover. I swear, sometimes I’m more loyal to my dog than to my husband (don’t tell him I said that.) And as such, I like to get my dog out of the house and take him on some fun adventures. These are two places that both of us love.
Fetch Bistro is a local doggy diner restaurant where I live. They welcome dogs inside the restaurant and offer a small doggy menu for them to choose from. The menu offers human food that are reasonably healthy for your furry friend. Food such as meatballs with white rice (my usual choice for my dog); a breakfast bowl of eggs, cheese, ham, bacon and sausage; and a shredded plain, hamburger patty with green beans. They also offer just simple pumpkin dog treats.
This restaurant is great for most dogs. They offer a quiet area for dogs who are enthusiastic about their barking and coats for dogs who shed a lot. My dog is fairly timid around other dogs and people, but he loves this restaurant because he knows he gets tasty meatballs. It’s a great date to have with your dog especially after something they hate, like vet visits or after being boarded.
Fetch Bistro does offer a variety of food for people as well, but it’s fairly plain. Going is definitely more about the experience rather than the quality of food.
While, dog restaurants are fairly rare, they are popping up in more populated areas. So check around, you may be surprised what’s hiding beneath your nose!
Sure, walks around the neighborhood are nice, but a long walk through the forest or around a lake offers new sights and smells for your dog to explore. My husband and I recently packed a picnic for ourselves and took our dog to a local lake where we explored the trails. Our dog enjoyed it so much. We were able to let him off of his leash and he had a ton of fun experiencing nature farther from our home.
Dogs need regular exercise as well so making a day trip to the park is a great way to keep them active and entertained. Look around for remote parks, especially camping grounds. They’re bound to have trails and scenery more attractive than your neighborhood.

I’ll see you next Wednesday!
