Office Desk Essentials
For all of my lovely office working folk, we all need a work survival pack in case things go wrong. And believe me, things can go very wrong from an unexpected migraine to forgotten lunches. So I’ve compiled a list of office desk essentials so when things turn south, we’re all prepared.
Ugh. So I don’t know what’s wrong with me, but I can’t seem to remember to put deodorant on in the mornings. Therefore, office desk essential number one is: keep a travel stick of deodorant in your desk/purse for those off days you have when putting deodorant on just doesn’t make it to the front of your mind in the morning. Mine hasn’t gotten a ton of use. Too much if you ask me.
I’ve had two office jobs now and each of them seemed to be experimenting with whether or not they could it make it snow if they set the thermometer as low as possible. A jacket is a must have in your desk because nothing is worse than freezing and not being able to do anything about it all day.
Note: This is for people who can exhibit self-control.
I am not one of those people.
Sometimes we all need a little pick-me-up. A small piece of chocolate can be enough to make your day just a little bit better or to take the edge of your sweet tooth.
For the ladies, a period that has the audacity to show up unexpectedly is an instant day ruiner. It’s best to outsmart those pesky unexpected periods and keep a few tampons/pads handy in your desk.
Since we’re talking about periods, painkillers are an office desk essential for alleviating those painful cramps or minimizing a sudden headache.
A Good Book
For those slow days when time seems to drag on endlessly.
Cell Phone Charger
Nothing is worse than having a dead cell phone. You may not be allowed to use your phone at work, but, still, no one wants to leave work only to come to a dead battery.
No one wants to look at a boring, old cubicle. Spice it up! You are more than likely at your desk for 40 hours a week. Don’t make your desk job any more miserable than it needs to be. Personalize your space to lift your spirits. Some simple flowers/figurines can really brighten up your desk or maybe put up pictures of your loved ones for when you need to see a smiling face.
Offices can be disgusting. Avoid getting sick with hand sanitizer.
I’ve forgotten my lunch a few times before. I hate when I do so because I’d rather not eat out for lunch so then I have to choose to starve or be unhealthy. Keeping some canned lunches that don’t go bad quickly like soup or ravioli may save you in case you’ve forgotten to pack your lunch.
These are my office desk essentials. They’ve helped me out on several occasions and I hope they help you out as well.
Do you have anything to add to the list? Let me know in the comments below!
I’ll see you guys next Wednesday!
