Wait, it’s June already? No, no, I remember just yesterday I was scrambling to move everything from winter to spring.

Vacation is officially over (for me, at least – I’m dying inside because it’s time to get back to the grind and make that money). And now that I’m looking ahead at the fun things coming up, it’s also time to consider what pieces should be a part of my fun wardrobe for the hot, hot days ahead.

The Perfect Pair of Sunglasses

Honestly, there is no way to navigate through the summer sun without a trusty pair of sunglasses by your side – or rather, on your head. Sometimes it can be hard to find that perfect pair! Check out this article at Seventeen.com that goes over what style works best for each face shape. Honestly, I’m a sucker for any large frames. Pink aviators are also just super cute and fun right now!

Strong-Shoulder Blazer

Time to mix office chic and summer fashionista together with some fun strong-shouldered blazers. The ’80s are back! Throwing on these blazers adds some definite character to your outfit. Need some inspiration? Check out some looks here on Refinery29.

Cute, Summer Hats

Hopefully I’m not the only one with a huge box of hats in my closet. But if I am, then I would highly recommend grabbing a hat this summer. Not only does it help pull together your vacation/beach/daily outfits, but it helps protect your face and scalp from the sun – and it’s super important to do, y’all! You can go for the classic floppy straw hat (I’m totally digging all the ones I’ve seen with fun phrases on them) or a fun panama hat with some pompoms! If that doesn’t work for, floral baseball caps are a great choice as well.

Gladiator Sandals

Like, why would we need anything else for summer? Okay, okay – there are some other great shoe trends out there right now (platform sandals, low-downs, espadrilles, etc.), but the gladiators are definitely something that needs to be a part of your shoe collection. They’re flawless, fun, and downright powerful. You can find some inspiration here and here. My fave Austin blogger/Instagrammer, StyleBeacon, also showed off a fun pair of gladiators in her recent blog post that she bought!

One-Piece Bathing Suit

Ditch those bikinis – one-piece swimsuits are the way to go! I love that there are so many options to still make these swimsuits unique and outgoing. Plunging necklines, corset-style ties, polka dots and ruffles… There is definitely something out there for everyone!
