As someone who’s currently searching for a new job, I’ve found it to ease the interview process by already having a go to interview outfit. A job interview is stressful enough (especially for someone as shy as me) and it’s not worth stressing over what to wear for it.
The perfect interview outfit can be tricky. The trick is to not overdo it with bold prints, jewelry, or makeup. As someone interested in fashion and makeup, this was especially hard for me. But I finally have the perfect interview outfit.
It features grey slacks by Candie’s (which are safety pinned on the pant leg because I’m short); a classy, black, half-sleeved sweater with a polka dot collar; and neutral makeup. As you can tell, the outfit is very conservative, but is overall effective as it does not draw attention away from what’s important: my skillset!
As for the makeup, I went with warm, neutral tones. This look features a rose champagne eyeshadow on the lid and a burnt, muted red on the browbone. I used a small amount of Kat Von D’s liquid eyeliner to line my upper eyelids. I chose not to do winged eyeliner like I normally do because I feel like that would be distracting for the job interview. For my eyelashes, I curled them and applied Better Than Sex mascara. For my lips, I used Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in the shade Lolita. I finished the look off with a small amount of blush and I was ready to rock my job interview. I love this look not just for interviews but everyday wear as well because it goes well with anything and easily brightens up my face.
