Subscription Nation: April Ipsy Bag

It’s time to throw in the towels and jump on the bandwagon. I’ve joined a beauty bag subscription! And I am thrilled.

Ipsy sends you beauty bags on a monthly basis and it’s only $10 a month. When you sign up, they give you a survey to complete to determine what products suit you best and fit into your beauty routine. Then, they send you a cute makeup bag with five products inside, some full size and some sample sizes, and all selected just for you!

This month was my first time to get anything and I was excited to see the bag in the mail. The products are so fun – especially the Lisa Frank brush (hello childhood!). Continue reading to find out more about this month’s surprises.

The Makeup Bag

Say that it’s because I worked at a movie theater for almost five years, but I just love the idea of having a ticket as a bag. Of course, our tickets looked nothing like this. I’m pretty sure that I’ll end up using this as a cute clutch purse at some point just because I want to show it off.

defy & Inspire Wear Resistant Nail Lacquer

With a retail value of $7.49, this product pretty much makes up for most of the cost of the bag. The color is super cute and bright. It’s absolutely perfect for spring!

THEORIE Marula Oil Transforming Hair Serum

I LOVE getting to try new hair products, so I’m super excited about this little baby. The full-size is 3.4 fl. oz. and has a value of $26. The one in my bag is 1/10 of the size, so I’ll give it a market value of about $2.60.

Glamour Dolls x Lisa Frank Angle Blush Brush

Complete with magical unicorns and all the bright rainbow colors, this brush is just full of nostalgia (and happiness!). The brush is super soft and I can’t wait to try it out. It has a market value of $5, so my bag is all paid off for with these first three items – and that’s not even including the value of the bag itself!

ColourPop Cosmetics Crème Gel Pencil

This was one of the highlighted items this month. It goes on very smoothly – I’m sure it makes some great cat eyes! I kind of wish it was in a fun color, like blue or purple, but black is definitely a staple color that I’ll always be in need of. This gel pencil has a market value of $5.

PEEK Beauty eye will stay Naturally Long Wearing Eye Shadow

I’m loving the shade of this eye shadow (250K8). It’s earthy, it’s sparkly – basically everything a girl needs. Peek Beauty started from Instagram, which is amazing! They’re selling a set of four of these mini containers for $25, so I’ll give this a value of about $6.50.

Overall, I’m super impressed with the goodies I got this month. Everything is worth about $25, which more than doubles my initial “investment”. The products are all fun and I’m looking forward to testing them all out! I’d give it a 10/10.
