Did you know that February 17th is Random Acts of Kindness Day? I love the concept – but I think it’s a shame that we need to have a holiday for this when being kind should just be second nature to us all. This entire […]
Ah, February! The joys of love and pink outfits and heart everything. Even if you’re single and not ready to mingle, it’s easy to get into the holiday spirit and have a bit of fun with your outfits this month. And if you’re a little […]
New Year, New Me. Ipsy is here again to help us look flawless as we take on the world, to conquer all the challenges that get thrown our way. January’s theme is all about putting on a Game Face and crushing goals this year.
The bag this month is cute, but not something that I’ll likely use often just because it’s not my style. It’s super sporty – blue mesh combined with neon yellow and pink stripes down the center.
The goodies this month were nice to receive and are exactly what I would be looking for, but weren’t as super exciting as previous months.
I’ll be honest, I have never heard of Oribe before I got this goodie in my bag. I don’t often use dry shampoo but this is definitely one that I’d use to liven up my hair after a lazy day. Plus, it’s got a wonderful scent that lasts all day. Obvs, the one in the Ipsy bag is a sample size, but that just means it will be good for travel or taking on the go. Retail value is about $6.60.
I’ve come to terms with the fact that I will forever have a bag of black eyeliners as long as I’m on the Ipsy subscription. And honestly, that’s fine with me – I’m totally all about this liquid eyeliner and the smooth look once applied. Talk about some flawless cat eyes. I can’t think of anything better to have when taking on my New Years Resolutions. This was a full-size, which was nice! Retail value of $19.00.
Masks are life – and Charcoal Masks are my soul. Seriously, I swear charcoal masks have magic mixed into them to clear up your skin overnight. I haven’t had the opportunity to use this mask yet because I’m waiting for a special occasion, but I know already that it’s going to be absolutely wonderful. Retail value is $1.99.
First of all, I just absolutely love the sound of the brand name. Secondly, this liquid lipstick is just perfect! The color is to die for – and absolutely perfect for some subtle yet gorgeous looks while transitioning into spring. It’s not drying, which is definitely a nice perk, and is pretty long-lasting. Another full-size with a retail value of $6.
I love me a good shimmer, and this warm honey powder has just the right amount. Such a gorgeous glow! Its versatility is fantastic – it’s a pretty highlighter but it also looks really nice as an eyeshadow. I personally love using products like this on my lazy days, as highlighter and eyeshadow when I don’t want to go too crazy on eye colors. Retail value of about $2.80.
While these were pretty fab products, I wasn’t as excited about them as I could have been: the lip color that I received last month was pretty similar and I liked the application better, the dry shampoo probably won’t get used right away, and the eyeliner just adds to my growing collection. The value was on the lower side of what I’ve received in the past (about $36), but I know that I’ll love using everything that I got – which is the important part.

Over the holiday break, I bought some great new outfits from White House | Black Market and I’ve just been dying to wear them. Fast forward to this weekend and I finally got the opportunity to wear this gorgeous black jumpsuit. It’s such a chic […]
Somehow a miracle occurred last year, and Texas experienced winter in December and had two days of a light snow (at least, that was the case in Austin). For all you Game of Thrones fans out there, winter has come.
And that means officially pulling out the jackets and dusting them off so that we can wear them out into society. Honestly, coats are my favorite part of the season, so I’m glad to be able to wear some of my heavier jackets.
If you’re feeling like you need something new, no worries! I’ve picked a few fun jackets that you can check out at some of my fave stores. And since most places are having semi-annual or after holiday sales right now, it’s totally the perfect time to grab winter wear.
Forever21 Woven Accordion-Pleat Duster Jacket, $48.00
I honestly fell in love with this jacket as soon as I set eyes on it. From the blush pink to the trail of pleats down the back, it’s all around adorable and stylish. Maybe not the best for colder weather, but hey, I’m in Texas and we don’t get harsh cold temps that often.
Express Collarless Pieces Faux Fur Coat, $90.99
Every girl needs a cute faux fur piece in their closet – and this one would definitely look great in any closet. The best thing about this coat is that you can add it to something casual for a super chic look or wear it with a real cute dress to dress it up. Plus, it’s so plush that you’ll be warm the entire day! Be warned, Texans, you may sweat in this but you’ll look gorgeous.
KENSIE Notch Lapel Peplum Coat, $119.90
Fam, this is what I’m here for. This coat is just gorgeous all around – I’m even in love with the buttons! The peplum flare is very fun and adds a special something that most winter coats just don’t have. Add in the bit of vintage feel that this coat has, and you’ve got something that is pretty timeless and will work for years.
NastyGal Bad Romance Shaggy Cardigan, $65.00
Okay, so Netflix brought me over to NastyGal’s website, so I can’t say that I’ve been a diehard fan since she started her company. But I’m totally digging all of the cute clothes on this website, including this fun cardigan. The unique texture and popping red really make it stand out. It won’t go with every single outfit, but when you wear this you’ll definitely be the star of the show. It also just looks really warm.
BCBG Ryan Trench Coat, $398.00
Okay, so this one is breaking the bank but I couldn’t resist adding it to my list. I mean, doesn’t it look like the attire of angels? A simple trench coat is always a great outfit option. And if it’s a neutral color like this one, you can wear it with practically everything. I tried finding some cheaper alternatives, but none of them quite matched up to this coat.
Rue21 Equal Power Moto Jacket, $15.00
Okay, bringing the price point waaay back down but also throwing in some positive vibes. This faux leather jacket is both a staple and a statement piece – literally. If you’re wanting to take a stand for equality, this is a perfect jacket to take out with you on your daily adventures.

Twinkling lights and silver bells – Christmas was so glam and fun and… it’s now over. Excuse me while I cry a bit in the corner and mourn the loss of our holiday celebrations. But even though the holiday season is over, there are still some […]
We made it! We’ve found our way to 2018, into another magical year that will have its own ups and downs – but hopefully turn out to be fantastic. And whether you’ve burned away the negative things from 2017 or started writing your new resolutions […]
We’ve done it, y’all. We’ve reached the 25th of December, the day we’ve been waiting all month for! Whether you are staying at home or traveling, Inbetween Thoughts would like to wish you the most merry of Christmases! And thank you for joining us on our first Blogmas adventure. We’re looking forward to many more.
To celebrate the holiday, I write a story each year called the North Pole Interview. I started doing this when I was young and emailed interviews with Santa to my friends and family. As I got older, I started to add a bit more adventure into my stories and the interview part of it disappeared. Instead, I just save Christmas or the North Pole each year.
I’d love to grow this Christmas tradition of mine and share it with all of you. Please head over to my personal blog, Saphmira, to read this year’s North Pole Interview here. The story is about 3,000 words long – which is why I’ve decided to keep it separate from this post so as not to overwhelm you all. I’m sure that you’ll still get a kick out of the characters and adventure and Christmas magic.
Enjoy your day with your loved ones!
