Living Longer By A 102 Year Old Woman

Hello all, I recently met a woman who turned 102 last year. I don’t know about you but I would love to live that long myself. I always thought the key was things such as exercising and eating right, or drinking a lot of alcohol to preserve yourself (sorry for the nerdy joke). But this woman gave me a few tips to living longer while she munched on handfuls of candy and sipping soda.

Tip 1: Eat a lot of chocolate

I am down with this tip all the way. I love chocolate, definitely dark chocolate. Dark chocolate is even good for your heart. But she prefers milk chocolate so I guess any chocolate will do. So get eating everyone!

Tip 2: Don’t drive

Well I have fallen off the bandwagon on this one. I have been driving for quite a while now. I don’t know about you but I want to pull my hair out quite often while driving. I guess it’s time to trade in my car keys for a number to a taxi.

Tip 3: Don’t get married

I have always wanted to get married in the future but a lot of people tell me that married women live shorter lives then nonmarried ones. On the flip side married men live longer then their nonmarried counterparts. Perhaps it’s the stress and nagging? We keep men alive while they stress us to death? That being said I am sure I still want to get married. I guess I will just have to live with a shortened lifespan from my husband.

Tip 4: Reduce stress

This tip is actually mirrored by doctors and other health professionals. Stress wreaks havoc on your body. So reducing it helps keep your body happy and healthy. I guess tips 2 and three tie into this one. I say we all find ways to relax and take stress out of our days. Just doing something small to make ourselves happy and not doing something that adds to our stress levels. If you get stressed out by crowds then stay home and do something that makes you happy. If you get recharged by crowds then go out to your hearts content and don’t let people stress you out about it.
